Logostasia: A Short Game About Fragments
A downloadable game
Logostasia is a short lyric game about how we make sense of fragmentary information that I wrote the game for Gamechef in 2018. It combines weird and nonsensical tweets with some playful thinking around classical fragments, that is, snippets of a lost work that survive only as decontextualized quotations in another work. Imagine if historians in 1000 years found a history essay you'd written and all that survived of the historical sources you used was what you quoted. Or imagine that yours is the only Twitter account that survives in 1000 years and future historians were attempting to make sense of the 21st century using only your tweets and quote tweets. That's what it's like to deal with fragments. That's what this game is like.
